I was on the phone and heard Chase laughing. When I went to check on him, I found him on Cy's bed with the dog. They love each other. Actually, I am not sure if Cy loves Chase or just realizes that he is the one most likely to feed him.

Playing Catch

Chase likes to play catch. But, he can neither throw nor catch very well. And, I obviously do not have great aim either.

Father's Day

There were lots of trial & error to get this cute family picture.

Chase was hapy to spend Father's Day with both his Dad and his Papa. The three Gurtmen posed nicely for pics.

Then, we took Sue home with us to stay with Chase while I went to Killington. I missed Chase while I was gone (learning new things, hiking in the evenings, listening to bands at night). Now that I am home, I miss all that!

Waterskiing

Chase was awed by his Nana's waterskiing. She could do "no hands".

But, then Dave came along and did the "no-hands-one-foot-hold".

Berks

Chase got to spend the time in the Berkshires. It is crazy that 5 and a half years ago, we got married here. Now, we are introducing Chase to a place that we love. He seemed really relaxed except he did not like those sunglasses so much.

More Zoo Pics

I am at a conference in Killington, VT this week. In my absence, I wanted Dave to post something on the blog so that I could keep up with Chase. He did okay, but I wanted to add some pics and explanation.

This weekend, we went to Chase's Aska's zoo. Chase got to pet a fawn that was living in Aska's house, ride a horse, and watch Cyrus chase geese. It was all very exciting.

Fort

Dave made Chase a fort out of an old cardboard box. Chase was not that into it but Cy Cy sure was interested.

We tried very hard to get Chase to pay attention to this box.

Jazz Fest

After Brady's birthday party, we took Chase out for a drink at Jazz Fest. Dave and I enjoyed some alone time while Laura graciously took Chase to explore the music.

Chase likes Jazz. But, he enjoyed playing with Laura's bike even more....

Until he saw a blue cow which made him really excited. He posed on the cow with some stranger who was also getting her picture taken.

Then he came back and we remembered what it was like to get all three of us smiling and looking at the camera at the same time. Luckily Uncle Jonny made goofy enough faces to make Chase laugh.

First Birthday Party

Chase went to his first birthday party, for his friend Brady. We got there late so by the time we arrived, Brady was already tuckered out from all the fun.

Chase tried cake for the first time. It was a sugar-free carrot cake sweetened with apple juice. Yum?

Chase gave Erin a big good-bye smile and thanked her with a sticky, cake-y hand pat to the face.

Buddies

Chase went for another play date with Cousin Robin. At Robin's house he is allowed to play with forbidden objects like cell phones and cameras. He also played with Robin's cardboard fort, his books and his music table. It seems like Robin was not quite sure about Chase but he was very nice to share his toys.

Dear Uncle Jon

You asked for pics from my most recent trip....unfortunately....or maybe fortunately?....my parents forgot the camera when I went to the Jersey Shore. So, the only pics I have are from their cell phone...

Kathy got super dressed up for the wedding. This is the funny shot she sent to Dave on his phone.
