Pumpkin Carving

Sammy and her parents came over to help carve Jack o Lanterns. We were doing well until we realized that Baby Max's face was awfully close to Dave's knife.

For those of you who need further convincing, that is Baby Max in the foreground.....crawling!

And, on a ride for his life!

(Hey Uncle Jon - if you are reading this, come visit us!)

Hikin'

We strapped on the kids for another weekend hike, this time to the Intervale in our old 'hood.

And....another token picture of poor Baby Max.

Right before I started taping the video above, Chase said, "Mommy, Daddy - I made up a song" (a phrase we hear a lot). Next thing we know, he is singing about poop bags.
Another recent cute (sort of) quote:
Chase: "Mommy, I'm not poking Baby Max's eye."
Me: "You're not?! That's good!"
Chase: "Maybe just a little bit."

Flatbread Pizza Party

Our friends have a flatbread oven in their backyard and have an annual flatbread making party. This year was the first one that we attended. It was so much fun! But, the highlight was the leaves, not the pizza.

Chase does not know the Power Ranger in the picture above but it looks like they are best friends...

And....our token picture of poor Baby Max.

School Party

Steph and Baby Max went to Chase's Halloween Parade at school cause I had to work. Look at all those costumes...Chase's coat hanger wings were the best!

Horse Barn Halloween

So, the Halloween events have started...seems like the biggest holiday nowadays. The first, and most fun, event is trick-or-treating at the UVM horse barn. This year, Chase was a bat and Max was a cow.

The horse below is a toucan and his owner was a box of fruit loops. Chase makes friend with each horse and then asks for some candy.

Home Again

And today, it was back to business as usual.

Whirlie's World

With stops, our trip home lasted 10 hrs. We did make major detours for brunch, a dog-walk, and Whirlie's World!! This was the ultimate good idea: with just an hour left of the drive (melting time), we went to a family play area in Middlebury. Since Whirlie's World was started by our nanny's parents, Chase and Max were treated like little kings there. We got to play, eat pizza, and then zonk out on the last hour of the drive.

Bouncy house fun straight to glow-in-the-dark mini golf...

...to car racing and air hockey!

Even Baby Max had fun; check out his little leg sticking out at Dave's hip in the picture above. With an apple in his mouth and a baby in his arms, it is surprising Dave even attempted to play Pac-Man.

End of Evening

So, we gave up on pictures and just played around the house. Can't believe that it is fore-casted to snow in VT on Thursday. Fall seems like it just got here.

Chase running in his batman cape - it gives him turbo speed!

Grandparents' Shot

By the time that we got to taking pictures with the grandparents, Max had totally melted. He was a snotty, mouth-breathing mess.

Family Shot

We shouldn't have even bothered trying for a family portrait.
