Another January Birthday

We went to another outdoor birthday party this weekend - love these hearty kids. This one had a camping theme. The tents were very popular.

We moved indoors for some playtime, highlighted by hockey sticks and balls in the basement.

We stayed for presents but, like usual, we left before cake. Max had to make due with a clementine.

Goofin Around

Goofy boys enjoying a warm weekend in Vermont....

The Real Big Boy Bed

Chase was super psyched to move into the twin bed in his room this weekend. Don't know why we made the switch now - he just wanted to try it out.

I snuck in during nap to take a few pics of him asleep.

Once we moved the toddler bed out of his room, there was a ton of extra space so we bought Chase a "big boy toy" (meaning you-better-not-touch-this-Baby-Max) which was a medieval castle. In the video message below, sent by Chase to Alanna, he tells her that we are buying "men for his castle".....great morning activity on a Sunday in VT.

Best Dinner Ever

Jeff and Shannon made us some incredible Japanese lettuce wrap meal. Oh my gosh - it was the best thing I have eaten in a very long while.

Max knows a good thing when he sees it.

Lunch

Maple Cotton Candy

Our Winter Farmers' Market now sells maple cotton candy. The only ingredient is pure maple syrup. At first, Chase thought I was crazy when I tried to get him to taste "cotton", but now he is really glad he gave it a try!

Livi's Big Day

Chase has been hating getting all super-bundled to leave the house in Winter. He and Max were fussing about getting all bundled up for Livi's outdoor birthday party. But, once we got there and Chase saw the bonfire and sledding hill, he was happy!

Big hugs for a two-year-old!

Frigid Monday

What better way to spend a cold Monday than in our PJs, with a fire going, listening to music and cooking. Today, Chase and Max helped make applesauce muffins....

chocolate chip cookies....

pot roast.....

and, two hard-boiled eggs.

Max is practicing with his fork and excited to start eating!

Biodome, Part Deux

Baby Max and Poppy were both so tired during our morning visit to the Biodome. Poppy threatened to wait for us in the gift shop because his knee was hurting him. So we made get in a wheelchair and Dave (and Chase) got quite a work-out pushing him around.

Max liked looking at the fish and I liked the batty bat ears.

The best part was that our friend, AJ, met us there. Chase really has a thing for AJ. All day today, Chase has been chanting "A - J!, A-J!".

Exhausted, we headed out of the dome and back to VT.

Eating Through Montreal

We went to Montreal this weekend. Max was psyched to see a plate of pasta bolognese waiting for him. He loves room service!

The next day, everyone enjoyed Schwartz's smoked meat...even Chasey - our little self-proclaimed vegetarian. Poppy likes it the most!

Baby Max looks a little bloated after all that eating.

Poppy's Back Too!

Poppy is back in VT (or was until yesterday). There are two things that Chase loves to do with Poppy: read books and go out for breakfast. Poppy and Chase have a tradition of playing hooky from daycare and going out to pancakes while Dave and I are working.

Back at Home

It's hard to believe that Louie could have spent three days in the woods. He is right back into the swing of things and has been since the minute he came home. The only thing that has changed is that Chase might now be a bit gentler with him.

Growing

Our boys are pip-squeaks...at least in weight! Dr. says it is a sign that they are eating healthy and not a lot of junk because their overall growth trajectory is on track. Wish someone would provide me healthy snacks and portion control.
