Supervising

This weekend, Dave and I undertook a major house landscaping project. We built a retaining wall and are in the process of planting some perennials. Chase did a great job supervising and letting us know what looked good and what did not.

Bagels & Lox & Sushi

This weekend, Chase's Nana and Papa came to visit. Besides spending a lot of time loving and reading, we also spent a lot of time eating. Chase went to his first sushi bar. He had one maki roll, an egg sushi, and some seaweed salad. Afterward, Frank had to leave a 30% tip because we left such a mess. Chase also ate NJ bagels & cream cheese. Yum!

School Trip

I chaperoned a field trip with Chase's school to the science museum. Chase loved to look at the fish and to explore. He spent a while exploring Samara's nose.

Here are two of Chase's teachers holding his friends Evan, Amelia and Milo.

HUG

If you listen closely, you can hear Chase say, "hug" and then give Cy a squeeze. He can also say, "dog" and "dad".

Eating with Aska

Chase's baby-sitter got a chance to see him in full eating action this week. She sent me a text message with this picture and the caption read, "this is gross". It really is. Look at the picture below - even Chase thinks so.

I was in a hockey tournament this weekend and took a slap shot to the thigh. War wounds.

On the Move

Chase is moving so fast now that by the time that I get around to taking a second picture, all that is left of him in the view finder is his butt.

This really scared me. I thought that I was not ready for crawling, but know that I cannot handle walking!

Loving Samara

Chase and I spent the day with Samara (a cute, cute kid from Chase's school) and her mom at the park. Chase LOVES Samara. I could not get them to pose together cause Chase could not keep his hands off her.

Luckily, she loves him back.

Vacuum Fun

Chase woke up very happy on Sunday. He was so happy to get tickles and loves from his mom.

But, then, his dad played a mean trick with the vacuum cleaner.

He made it up to Chase by taking him on a hike later in the day.

ECHO

Chase and his cousin Robin went to the ECHO Center yesterday. There, they saw fish, turtles, starfish, and play with some weird magnetic blocks.

Do these 4th cousins look alike?

9 mos Dr. visit

I wrote out some thoughts that I wanted to be sure to share with the doctor at our appt today. Our biggest concern is that we seem to be feeding this baby SO MUCH FOOD. I told her that it is like stuffing a sausage. We just keep packing it in (see sample menu I wrote out for her review). Chase has been growing a double chin and a spare tire. I am also posting my list of questions below because I think that it is funny that the last thing on it is "testicles". I just am always concerned that everything is good "down there" cause sometimes his "package" seems a bit baggy. The Dr. schooled me on the phenomenon of a boy's testicles retracting when cold and told me that this was the only problem.

Despite our worries, Chase is only in the 28th% for weight at 19.2lbs - and that was after one of his giant meals (87th% for length at 29.5inches though I think that they may have measured tall). Yeah - no fat babies!

Cruisin'

Self-Control

It is really fun to watch Chase cruise around. But, with freedom comes responsibility. Chase has been practicing self-control before he does things (like dump the dog water bowl) that he knows he is not supposed to do.

Laura is cute!

Swinging seems to be our new favorite hobby. It is fun and healthy!

Re-birth

We spent a glorious Easter Sunday at Oakledge Park. What great weather we are having! Chase enjoyed feeling the lake water for the first time and looking at his Uncle Pedro's muscles.

Beautiful Weather in B'ton

Easter Weekend

It took many tries to get our first Easter Family Photo. But, it was worth it.

Adam bonded with Chase too. But, I think that he liked Louie the best.

If there are any question that Chase is a clone of Poppy Steve - at least in terms of appetite, I think that Chase's love of sushi (avocado rolls and tofu are his fav) and Vietnamese spring rolls should clear that up.
