Fishing

Hands down - Chase's new favorite activity is fishing (thanks to successfully catching 4 fish at Papa's house).  We tried out some fishing in Colchester this weekend.  All we found were some toothless locals cursing wildly .... and some pretty scenic river.  No fish!

Hot Hike

In an effort to find a cool, clean place for our dogs to take a dip on these hot days, we decided that hiking into a river was the best idea (Lake Champlain is NASTY).  The boys did an awesome job hiking through East Woods.  And the dogs were so thankful for the cool-down.

New Friends

We have really come to love our new little friends, Hazel and Alana.  They are getting perkier and more interactive everyday.  We all enjoyed Bread & Butter Farm's Burger Night last week.

Max used to be super jealous when I held one of the girls (I think he's worried I'll nurse her) but now he is learning to share the love.

Field Trip...to Chase's House

Even though I pulled Chase from his school for the summer, I want him to keep in touch with his friends.  So, I invited everyone to take a field trip to our house.  We had a lot of fun!

We started with snacks: booty, grapes, blueberries and veggie sticks for the kids and olive bread, goat cheese, avocado and tomato for the adults.

Then, we turned the backyard into a mini water park.  Overall, it was a bit chaotic to have ten 3 year-olds for a playdate.  But, it was a worthwhile way to spend a HOT summer morning.

BTC BDAY

Livi and Audrey met us at BTC for a pizza and cupcake dinner (I still am holding out on parties till Chase actually asks for one).  This was a real treat.

I showed Chase the above pictures of the girls posing with big, mouth-open smiles and asked him to do the same.  The result is below....

3 Year Old Boy?

Chase requested purple cupcakes with green frosting and green cupcakes with purple frosting for his birthday treat.

How is it possible that this little man is already 3?

Montshire Museum

Chase's birthday celebrations started early when Poppy, Grandy, Dave and I took him an Max to the Montshire Museum in Norwich, VT on Sunday morning.  They were intrigued as soon as they stepped into the place.

Quickly, though, we walked to the outdoor portion of the museum and enjoyed the water features on a hot summer day.

The birthday boy was lucky to get attention from two grandparents.

Max and Dave played with a real rock instrument (pun intended).

That evening, we went to a Lake Monsters game.  Max was on the Jumbotron and Chase ate 1.5 hot dogs.  Good times had by all.
