Progression of Bathing

1. Chase crawls into the bathroom to show off his dirty-dinner-face.

2. He tests the water and thinks that it feels fine.

3. He finds his toys and happily sings away in the tub.

4. Mommy scrubs too hard and Chase gets mad.

5. But, that is nothing that a little mohawk and precarious standing cannot fix. All clean!

Working the Core

Every Monday, Chase joins me at Kathy Brunette's Core Studio. This practice started when he was in utero. Chase is so good at pilates now and he especially likes to explore the reformers, to pull Cooper's tail and to hang with Kathy.

Ode to Lovey

Who hath not known a summer's eve
When counting sheep and chirping crickets numberless,
That sleep seems far off, as does reprieve,
From the sticky, sleepsack restlessness?

Then with one hand, I find my love
Wrapped up in fleece with an orange hue.
Now hasten away discomfort! Here comes rest.

I hold my Lovey close, then out and above.
Next to my cheek, to be certain and true
Peace ensues, like a babe against a mother's breast.

Naked-er

As the day went on, Chase got dirtier and also more naked. He really enjoyed playing the in dirt, crawling in the grass, and "helping" in the garden. Aska used the extra sunscreen to give Chase a mohawk. And, to stay true to his softer side, she also tucked a flower behind his ear. Chase certainly was styling!

My Buddy and Me

Pedro and Chase posed for another tandem modeling session. They did very nicely in the sunshine shots.

Mission: Octagon

We went for a night to the Octagon to see what we could see. Aska came with her dog Cody, Andrea came and Pedro showed up too.

On our walk, Chase was so happy that Andrea knew to forage for fiddleheads. We ate them up for dinner and they were soooo good.

Mobility

Chase's increased mobility has been tough on the dogs. They are in a constant game of hide-and-seek-and-pull-hair. But, the dogs have their defenses too....as you can see in the video when Cy head butts Chase.
