Dave and I enjoyed the skating this morning so much that we went skating end-to-end on Shelburne Pond during our 1:30-3:30 naptime date.

Awesomest Ice Derby
We went to the Ice Fishing Derby on North Hero this morning. It really was the perfect event for a beautiful day.
There were kids bringing in some pretty big pickerel. Hopefully, Chase and Max can fish next year.
This year, they settled on sled rides.
Chase was interested in watching the families drill holes, put in their little perch rods and pull out fish.
Chase was impressed by this mini perch that the man snagged out of his hole.
Max's Valentines Day
Max had a great Valentines Day. First, he went to Music Class where he mastered the drums.
Then, he stuffed a whole heart muffin into his mouth at once.
On a field trip to UVM, he studied the students studying.
Then, he and Louie admired the cute valentines that he, Maeve and Steph distributed to his one-year-old friends.
Valentines!
Chase and Max worked hard on making valentines for their friends. All work was their own and Chase has the hands to prove it.
Chase really liked making "butterflies" by putting dots of paint on the inside of the heart cards, pressing the two sides together, and then opening them up to let the symmetrical wings dry.
Chase and Max woke up to these Valentines treats: organic chocolate from Lake Champlain (which Max promptly had to give to Daddy) and heart-shaped pumpkin muffins. Yum!

Superbowl Sunday
Skiing!
Max got woken up early from his morning nap so we could go meet Dave and Chasey at Cochran's Ski "Resort". We are super thankful to have this little hill less than 20 mins from our home. Its the perfect place to learn to ski.
Chase had his first experience on a tow line lift.
The four-legged skier in the picture below is Chase/Dave.
And, he has his first ski lesson from the 1972 Olympic gold medalist, Barbara Ann Cochran.
What could be better than hard-boiled eggs and hot chocolate in the lodge after a morning of skiing?
