More Fun with Robin
Chase was excited this morning to get ready to see his Cousin Robin.
All was going well until Chase stuck his tongue out at Robin. To retaliate, Robin smacked him in the eye. Chase learned not to mess with someone 6 days older and more coordinated than him.
Later, we put them in Robin's crib together. That scared them both.

Good Days, Bad Days
Chase started off his day so well. He practiced "tummy time" and had a bath to clean the lint from between his toes. All was well until......
he went to the pediatrician and got lots of bad news. First, he found out he was fat (12.2lbs). Chase went from the 25th percentile to the 50th percentile to the 75th percentile in weight in just 1.5 months. And, he had to get shots. He was so sad that even the Garfield band-aids could not cheer him up. He just screamed and screamed. He got home and went straight to bed and his mom had a big glass of wine.

Video Proof
Louie seems to think that if he plays dead, I might rescue him from the assault.
Chase is happy even if Louie is not.

Not-so-sleepy
Birth Control
Turn down the volume on the speakers for this one. I only post it to demonstrate two things: 1. Chase is not always so cute because 2. sometimes he cries for no reason. See how he is looking right at me and screaming...just because he can.
S. Burlington Here We Come!
Last Tuesday, Chase spent his last night at the Octagon and moved to a rented room in a home in S. Burlington. Pros: the view, the proximity to town, the free breakfast. Cons: shared living with strangers, 2 dogs + 2 adults +1 baby in 1 room, having to try to be quiet in the middle of the night.
I definitely did not set up this shot of the dogs.

Getting Home
We are back in Vermont. Relaxing. I swear I only sort of set up this shot. I did lay Chase on the bed but Lou chose to scoot up and lie next to him. As soon as I left the room, though, Lou followed so it might not really have been Chase that he was after.
Having fun with Chase on the ferry... I think that he is trying to nurse my cheek. I cannot get near him without his mouth opening up into a gaping hole. He is always looking for his next meal.
Last day of vacation, Chase spent most of it staring at his firefly friend.

Rainy Day Activity
It is raining in Martha's Vineyard so we are a little bored. We decided, therefore, to spend some time analyzing which of us Chase resembles most. I think it is Dave. But, I heard a nurse say that newborns often look like their dads at first so that fathers do not freak out when they have babies and abandon the family. Over time, Chase will start to look more and more like me.

one-and-two
This video demonstrates the exercises that Dave must perform with Chase to get the baby to poop. Chase tends to get constipated for up to a week (too much information?). Luckily, Chase likes getting his legs pumped!
Family Time
Chase is getting lots of time with his parents while we are all on vacation. He seems to really enjoy it even though the above picture shows him a bit terrified of Dave's big lips coming in for a landing.
Chase is also liking beach time. He has yet to see the sun or feel the ocean but he still enjoys just chillin in beach chairs.
