Day ??

Obviously, Dave, Chase and Max have been getting into the farm spirit.

In Schull, it is very easy to lose time at the farm.  There are always "chores" which Chase and Max see as "adventures".  They have become avid goat milkers, for example....and all of our shoes smell like goat piss now.

We've also visited farms beyond our backyard.  Here, Poppy is making friends with the horses.

In the afternoon, Dave and I left the boys at naptime so that we could hike up the hill near Schull.  If you look at the picture above, you will spot Poppy in one window doing the "big dish" and Chase above playing with his "private toys".  Why is our family's lingo so full of "jargon"?

Dave takes in the view of Schull.

Barley Cove Beach

After our visit to Mizen Head, we stopped at the Barley Cove Beach.  I have been shocked by how carribean the Irish coast seems.

Mizen Head

Today, we definitely found the playground with the most beautiful view.  It was on Mizen Head, the most southwesternly point in Ireland.  We played a bit before we headed out for a walk to the end of the Earth.

We walked along a long path and then a bridge to reach the old lighthouse on the bluff.

The views from the end of the path were remarkable.  Truly amazing.

Day 1 in Schull

We spent the morning of our first day in the Schull area watching a boating regatta.  Rowing boats from neighboring towns get together for a dozen races or so each Sunday.

In the evening, we ventured to Ballydehob for an ice cream, a Guiness, and a short parade to celebrate to the summer festival.
